– Automatic Steel Cold Roll Former for CZ Purlin, Strut Channel, Metal Framing

The Top Hat Channel Roll Forming Line is primarily applied in the building materials sector, particularly for the production of lightweight steel frames for roofs and walls, as well as related metal components. Its unique design and efficient roll-forming process have made it an indispensable part of the modern construction industry.

Composition of the Forming Line

The Top Hat Channel Roll Forming Line consists of multiple crucial components, each playing an indispensable role in ensuring product quality and production efficiency.

  • Uncoiler:

The uncoiler is located at the starting point of the entire production line, responsible for uncoiling steel coil raw materials and feeding them into subsequent processing units. It typically adopts a single-head structure and is equipped with pressure devices and inner and outer retaining rollers to prevent the steel strip from unwinding during the uncoiling process. Depending on the size of the raw material steel coil, the uncoiler’s load capacity is generally selected as 5T or 10T, and it features hydraulic tensioning and negative pressure braking functions to ensure the stability and safety of feeding.

  • Leveler / Straightener:

The leveler follows the uncoiler and cooperates with it to achieve passive feeding while simultaneously flattening the steel strip to eliminate material stress. With the increasing application of high-strength steel strips, the role of the leveler becomes particularly important. It employs a multi-roll structure to precisely flatten the steel strip, ensuring that the material’s flatness meets the requirements for subsequent processing.

  • Shear and Butt Welder:

The shear and butt welder is mainly used to connect new and old steel strips for continuous production. It adopts argon arc welding technology to ensure the straightness and welding quality of the joints. Before welding, the heads and tails of the steel strips need to be punched to ensure the alignment and welding effect of the joints.

  • Pre-punching Unit:

It adopts argon arc welding technology to ensure the straightness and welding quality of the joints. Before welding, the heads and tails of the steel strips need to be punched to ensure the alignment and welding effect of the joints.

  • Servo Feeder:

The servo feeder is crucial for ensuring the accuracy of pre-punched hole positions. It adopts a servo closed-loop control system to achieve high-precision feeding, ensuring the final product quality. For production lines integrating processes such as pressing and trimming, the requirements for feeding accuracy are even more stringent, making the servo feeder particularly important.

  • Cold Roll Forming Unit:

The cold roll forming unit is the core structure of the roll-forming production line. It uses multiple servo motors to drive and connect multiple sets of reducers. Through the rolling and extruding of multiple sets of rollers, the steel strip is gradually formed into the required channel shape. The speed of the cold roll forming unit is adjustable and is generally controlled at around 30m/min during production to meet the production requirements of different products.

  • Post-punching Unit:

The post-punching unit is used for further pressing and trimming the product after roll forming to meet specific customer requirements. It is usually integrated before the cutting unit to achieve zero-flow processing and improve production efficiency.

  • Material Handling Unit:

The material handling unit is used to pick up and place the cut product into a material box for transfer to the next process. It usually consists of conveyors, robots, and auxiliary equipment to achieve automated operation.

In addition, the Top Hat Channel Roll Forming Line can also be equipped with auxiliary equipment such as a PLC control system, hydraulic station, and lubrication system to ensure the stable operation and efficient production of the production line. The PLC control system can achieve automated control and monitoring, improving the intelligence level of the production line; the hydraulic station provides a power source for various hydraulic equipment; and the lubrication system ensures the lubrication and wear control of various moving parts.

Note: Machine parameters can be customized according to customer requirements.
